Wellington Street Bridge E-mail
The cultural heritage landscape where the St. Mary’s downtown core lies beside Trout Creek displays a collection of 3 bridges, all within sight of each other. Appearance is an important feature of the design for a bridge replacement to ensure that the new structure would fit the streetscape.

BMROSS design engineers were inspired by archival photographs of the 1912 bridge at this site. They specified custom-designed formwork for the reinforced concrete parapets to add some charm to an otherwise very modern bridge. The new bridge features bedrock dowels, pre-stressed concrete slab girders, FRP reinforcement and supports an insulated water main nested between the girders.
