The existing corrugated steel pipe arch was corroded, cracked and deflecting. Replacement was going to involve expensive excavation, roadway protection and backfill and cause chaos at the signalized intersection of two County Highways. By providing a galvanized steel liner and pumping grout between the pipes, the design by BMROSS resulted in cost savings for the County and no traffic staging.
BMROSS engineers proved that a smaller sized pipe would meet the hydraulic needs at this particular site and allow for the lining to be approved by the regulating authorities. BMROSS also provided the probable costs for alternatives, design, tenders, contract administration and construction review to the completion of the project.
