Matt’s work focuses on integrating environmental planning principles into the engineering project work undertaken by the firm. He leads our expanding Planning Group, which uses the concepts of sustainability, effective consultation and geographic information systems to develop comprehensive projects in the areas of infrastructure planning, information management, and environmental protection.
Matt has extensive experience working with municipalities to get their message out in an open and consultative manner. Matt employs a variety of public engagement and facilitative techniques to help build consensus through effective collaboration. His current work includes an innovative application of a Septic Re-inspection Program in a lakeshore municipality, using Community Based Social Marketing as the foundation to achieve positive change in environmental attitudes.
Matt is a firm believer in professional growth and development and works with his professional organization to provide opportunities for continuous learning and the mentoring of new professionals. He was presented with a Member Service Award in 2008 from the Ontario Professional Planning Institute for his contribution to the association.
