Project management aspects included preparing an RFP to dispose of the current soccer field property, evaluating proposals and making recommendations to Council regarding the successful proposal, leading staff and the minor soccer association through an iterative design process for the new facility to keep to project within budget and timelines. There was a tight timeline associated with this project in that the new fields are to be playable for the next soccer season.
Construction management and administration of this project required the preparation and tendering of a $1,000,000 contract within a 4 week period after the project approval of Council, negotiating of approvals with SCVA for a site with natural heritage constraints, preparation of a restrictive contract that required completion and successful seeding of the fields by October 1, 2006, and contract administration and supervision of the contract.
